Zirconium demonstrates high strength, ductility, malleability, outstanding corrosion and heat resistance behavior. At elevated temperatures, the finely divided metal powder is capable of igniting spontaneously in air. It cannot be dissolved in acids or alkalis. Zirconium is used in oxide or zirconia form.
