Ti-6Al-4V Alloy (TC4 Titanium alloy)
Titanium-aluminum-vanadium alloy( Ti-6Al-4V)
Ti-6Al-4V alloy, commonly known as Grade 5 titanium, is the most widely used and mature titanium alloy, often referred to as the “workhorse” of the titanium industry. It is an α+β titanium alloy, which achieves excellent comprehensive properties through the addition of 6% aluminum (an α stabilizer) and 4% vanadium (a β stabilizer).
Its basic chemical composition range is as follows:
| Element | Composition (wt%) |
|---|---|
| Aluminum (Al) | 5.5 – 6.75 |
| Vanadium (V) | 3.5 – 4.5 |
| Iron (Fe) | ≤ 0.25 – 0.30 |
| Oxygen (O) | ≤ 0.20 |
| Carbon (C) | ≤ 0.08 |
| Nitrogen (N) | ≤ 0.05 |
| Hydrogen (H) | ≤ 0.015 |
| Titanium (Ti) | Balance |
