Sponge titanium high purtiy raw materials

Sponge titanium  is a metallic titanium in the shape of sponge, which is obtained by chlorinating rutile ore  to generate titanium tetrachloride and then reducing it with active elements such as magnesium or sodium. It is commonly known as sponge titanium.

Sponge titanium American Standard (ASTM Standard)

ASTM B299: This is the standard specification for sponge titanium by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Sponge titanium is divided into multiple grades, commonly including Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, etc.

Sponge titanium Grade 1: It belongs to the low-strength and high-corrosion-resistance grade, with low impurity content and good workability. It is usually used in some occasions where the requirement for corrosion resistance is high but the requirement for strength is relatively low, such as some non-critical components in chemical equipment and some structural components in marine environments. 

Sponge titanium materials Grade 2: It is at a medium level in terms of strength and corrosion resistance and has a wide range of applications. It can be used to manufacture some titanium products for general industrial purposes, such as ordinary mechanical parts and pipelines. 

Sponge titanium metal raw materials Grade 3: It has relatively high strength and strict control of impurity content, and is suitable for occasions with certain requirements for strength and quality, such as some key parts in the automotive industry and some aerospace structural components.

Sponge titanium Grade 4: It is a high-strength grade with high purity and strictly controlled impurity content. It is mainly used in fields with extremely high requirements for material performance, such as aerospace and military, to manufacture key components that bear high loads and high stresses, such as aircraft engine blades and landing gears.
